First of a kind wind farm project management services by Modern Energy Management
Bangkok, Thailand
Modern Energy Management Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement with Chinese state owned China State Construction Engineering Company to supply EPCM (Engineer, Procure, Construct Management) project management services for wind farm projects in international markets.
Modern Energy Management’s Aaron Daniels was quoted, “we’ve seen lenders demonstrate a preference for managing project construction and warranty risk by moving toward EPC contracting structures on wind projects. However, wind projects are unique and quite complex, and EPC contractors typically don’t have in-house project management expertise with significant experience in this sector, particularly in emerging markets where we are strong. China Construction engaged us to support them on their international projects due to our extensive experience developing, building and operating wind projects, with a particular focus in complex wind projects and in emerging markets.”
Modern Energy Management specializes in project management and engineering services for wind and solar projects. Mr. Daniels attributes the success of their company to the way they approach projects. “We’re unique in that each member of our project team has significant wind and solar project development and construction experience. Individual project managers in our firm range from 1,500MW to 2,200MW of experience in delivering projects, each of whom have worked in emerging markets”. “Additionally,” Mr. Daniels stated, “our project team have strong project management qualifications. Each of our project team has a relevant professional degree and PMP certification. The result is a superior value to project financial stakeholders seeking to manage project risk and ensure business case certainty in their wind farms”.
Modern Energy Management is supporting their client with services in Indonesia, Pakistan and Argentina. Currently EPCM services are not offered for wind projects, making this a first of a kind service in the wind industry.
