Wind farm project Owner’s Representative contract awarded to Modern Energy Management
Bangkok, Thailand
Modern Energy Management Co., Ltd. has been appointed Owner’s Representative for the development of a 60MW wind farm project in Thailand. Working on behalf of the project shareholders, Modern Energy Management’s scope as Owner’s Representative will include project design, contracting, commercial negotiations and overall management of the financial close process with local lenders.
The wind farm project, located in Nakhon Ratchasima province, will be the second utility-scale wind farm built in Thailand. The 60MW wind farm project is expected to be complete in early 2016. Modern Energy Management has significant experience developing and building wind projects in Thailand. The founding partners of Modern Energy Management previously managed the construction of Wind Energy Holding’s FKW and KR2 wind farm projects (a single construction phase with a total combined capacity of 207MW), which was the first ever utility-scale wind farm in Thailand.
“Our client awarded us this project due to our experience in developing and building wind farm projects in Thailand, and due to our strong relationship with local lenders,” reports Aaron Daniels, Managing Director of Modern Energy Management. “We are the only project management and engineering firm in the wind energy sector that has significant, direct experience and particular strength in delivering wind projects in emerging markets. And we have demonstrated expertise in doing it cost effectively.”
Modern Energy Management is a Singapore-based project management and engineering firm with offices in Bangkok, Thailand. Modern Energy Management specializes in renewable energy (primarily wind and solar) project development, construction and operations management with particular expertise in emerging markets.
